Amy Harrison a WSA North Star regular when not completing her studies at the University of Tennessee has joined the Lady Rangers soccer club in the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL). The Lady Rangers have just started the second half of their Scottish Women’s Premier League schedule after finishing in the first phase with an 8-2-1 record.
Amy was delighted by the move: “I’m really excited to have been given this opportunity to play for Rangers. I have always wanted to play overseas, especially Scotland and I can’t wait to make an impact on this team.” Ian Harrison, Amy’s father hails from Paisley, Scotland and they have family living in Renfrewshire.
The Rangers started the second phase of their season with a pair of losses, so Amy’s strong play in the midfield will be a welcomed addition as the team looks to move up the standings. “Amy has it all, she wins the ball in all situations, she has speed and a heavy shot.” said WSA North Stars coach William Rosales.
The WSA North Stars coaching staff, players and fans would like to wish Amy all the best as she embarks on this phase of her competitive soccer career. “Amy has the talent and competitive spirit to do extremely well wherever she decides to play. I expect the Lady Rangers will be very pleased once Amy takes to the field.” said Coach Eduardo Badescu.
