WSA Winnipeg will start the 2018 PDL season in familiar territory. The Wolfpack will kick off the new campaign on May 23 against the Des Moines Menace.
Winnipeg will start the season with a five-game road trip before hosting Thunder Bay on June 2.
“We are very excited to begin our 8th season in the PDL,” said WSA Winnipeg head coach Eduardo Badescu. “We are hoping to build off a strong 2017 campaign that saw us finish the season with back to back wins.”
This season, the PDL’s Heartland Division will feature Winnipeg along with Des Moines, Chicago FC United, St. Louis Lions, Thunder Bay Chill, and Kaw Valley FC.
Kaw Valley is the only new team this season and serves as a U-23 affiliate of Major League Soccer’s Sporting Kansas City.
Many of WSA Winnipeg’s players are still with their university teams and will return in the spring to begin training for the season.
